Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use thistool.com ("ThisTool", "we", "us"). By using the site, creating an account, or submitting a tool, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. What ThisTool is

ThisTool is a directory of AI and web tools. Listings are provided by the people and companies behind each tool. We don't own, operate, or guarantee those tools, and a listing isn't an endorsement. Information on the site may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong — check a tool's own website before relying on it.

2. Your account

• Give accurate information when you register, and keep it up to date.
• Keep your password secret. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
• We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or abuse the site.

3. Tool listings you submit

When you submit a tool you confirm that:

• you own the tool or have permission to list it;
• everything you submit is accurate and not misleading;
• you have the rights to the text, logo, and other material you upload.

Listings must meet the requirements on the Rules page and in the FAQ. Don't submit tools that are malicious, deceptive, illegal, or that infringe someone else's rights.

You keep ownership of your content. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, format, and promote it on ThisTool for as long as it's listed. We may reject a submission, edit its formatting, or unpublish or remove a listing at any time — including after it has gone live. Publishing, whether manual or automatic, is not an endorsement.

4. Paid options

• Instant List and Featured are paid options. Payments are made in US dollars through PayPal; the price is shown before you pay.
• A payment buys the feature described for that plan (such as priority review, homepage placement, or a Featured badge). It doesn't guarantee approval, traffic, rankings, or sales, and it doesn't stop us from removing a listing that breaks these terms.
• If you think you were charged in error, email contact@thistool.com with your PayPal order ID and we'll review it.

5. Reviews

• Reviews must be honest and based on your own experience. Don't post fake reviews, or reviews of your own tool.
• No spam, harassment, hate, or content that breaks the law.
• Reviews are moderated. We may decline or remove any review.
• By posting a review you let us display it on ThisTool.

6. "Verified by owner" badge

This badge means we emailed a confirmation link to an address on the tool's own domain and it was confirmed. It is not an audit, certification, or endorsement of the tool. We may remove the badge — for example if the tool's website changes to a different domain, or if the badge was obtained improperly.

7. Acceptable use

Don't:

• interfere with or try to disrupt the site, or get around its limits and protections;
• upload malicious files or code;
• use automated tools to create accounts, submit listings, or post reviews in bulk;
• use the site to break the law or harm others.

8. Links to other sites

Tool pages link to websites we don't control. We're not responsible for their content, products, or practices.

9. No warranty

ThisTool is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise that it will always be available, error-free, or that every listing is accurate or safe.

10. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, ThisTool and the people behind it aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any loss that results from using a third-party tool or website found through ThisTool.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. Using ThisTool after a change means you accept the updated terms.
