About LongShot
LongShot is an iPhone app that combines overlapping screenshots into one long image. It is useful for saving a text conversation, a chat, or content from another app when several separate screenshots would be awkward to review or share. Instead of treating unrelated pictures as one continuous capture, LongShot checks that the screenshots overlap before merging them and removing duplicate content.
There are two ways to work. You can open the app, choose the screenshots, inspect the preview, and save the resulting image. You can also set up a Shortcut and assign it to the iPhone's Double Tap gesture. That second route requires one-time Shortcut setup, Photos access and Back Tap configuration. Once those steps are complete, supported small batches can be stitched and saved directly to Photos without opening LongShot for each batch.
The gesture workflow has limits. Larger batches, missing permissions, exhausted free allowance or other errors may require opening the app. It is not a promise that the app will never need to be opened. In the foreground app, up to 100 screenshots can be processed, subject to the device's available resources and the sizes of the images. Capture reliable overlap between consecutive screenshots and check the preview to make sure the result contains the content you intended to preserve.
Screenshot processing stays on the iPhone, with no image uploads. LongShot does not require an account and does not show ads. This describes screenshot handling; it should not be read as a claim that purchase verification never communicates with a service. Apple handles payment and RevenueCat is used to manage purchase entitlement and restoration.
The free allowance is 10 successful stitches per calendar month. An optional one-time lifetime unlock provides unlimited exports, with no subscription. Pricing is localized in the App Store. After the free allowance is used, a preview remains available, while saving, sharing and Shortcut exports require the lifetime entitlement. Saving or sharing the same generated result does not consume another free stitch. The website includes setup instructions and practical guides for capturing overlap, troubleshooting and sharing long images.
